Experience the most popular activities Lapland has to offer! Including husky and reindeer rides, dinner in ice restaurant, northern lights flight, visit to Ranua zoo.
As the Tourism grows in our beautiful lapland area, it is important to protect and use our space respectfully, that is why we need to remember and focus on our environment, culture, social and economic sustainability. For that, Sustainable Travel Finland (STF) was created by Visit Finland, to advance sustainable tourism across the country.
By choosing STF-certified services, visitors actively support Finland’s sustainability goals while enjoying meaningful and eco-conscious travel experiences. The program is a key part of Finland’s efforts to become a global leader in sustainable travel. We have decided to start our Biosphere Certification as proof of our sustainability.
In our Arctic Circle Information at Santa Claus Village we have sustainability goals focused on preserving the Arctic environment while ensuring responsible tourism. Based on our role and location, our key goals for sustainable tourism include:
1. Minimizing Environmental Impact – Encouraging eco-friendly travel practices, such as reducing waste, promoting recycling, and supporting carbon-conscious tourism.
2. Promoting Sustainable Transportation – Informing customers of electric car charging services and electric car rental, public transportation, and other low-emission travel options.
3. Supporting Local and Ethical Businesses – Prioritizing partnerships with responsible local companies that align with sustainability values.
4. Educating Visitors on Responsible Tourism – Providing information on how tourists can minimize their footprint, respect local nature, and support conservation efforts.
5. Protecting Arctic Nature and Wildlife – Raising awareness about the fragile Arctic ecosystem and supporting initiatives that preserve Lapland’s natural beauty.
Crossing the Arctic Circle line in Santa Claus Village, Rovaniemi is a special memory. You can order certificate to accompany this memory: choose between two different designs and the language that suits you the best.
